Bridge of Rushing Rivers

The rushing of the river

The chasm a way down

We step across the danger

We must do it without frown

These attempts by all the people

To reach the other side

Are pretty pathetic when you think of

The inevitability of the tide

The bridge is slowly breaking

Maybe a century or much more

But the inevitability of its conclusion

Is the meaning that plebs search for

Eventually it will be us

Who brings the bridges down

But you'll find we are deluding ourselves

On what precisely will be found
